Brinley's Birthday Bash--Take 2!!

My darling Brinley is spoiled rotten and so very blessed to have so many people who love her. She was lucky enough to have not only one but two 1st birthday parties.

The second one was the weekend after the first and Brinley was ready to go! We recycled the party decorations and had our wonderful neighbor make an awesome cake. We had snacks and drinks and babies galore. In fact we had 4 one year olds and a 6 month old and my sweet Lydia who just turned 5.

The camera wasn't out as much as I would have liked because I was busy visiting with family and friends. We did end up with a few pictures though...enjoy!

Brinley's Birthday Bash--Take 1

After months of planning and buying everything I could find that was pink, the time was finally here! My family arrived in shifts and made it in despite of the 20 inches of snow. My entire family made the trip, Joshs and all. It meant so much that they all made the trip out to celebrate Brinley's special day.
With 40ish people invited and everyone showing up Brinley had a party we'll never forget!
Brinley was treated like the Princess she is and she loved every minute of it :)

I haven't made invitations since I did our wedding invites. I decided to help stick with our strict birthday budget that I would make them myself and this is how they turned out...

When we started it looked like a pink explosion....

Wordless Wednesday...

Last year Brinley was born during one of the worst snow storms of the year, so I assume it's only fitting that she celebrate her 1st birthday during one. On Thursday night we got one of the biggest snow storms in recent history and had a whopping 20 inches. Some places had even more!

It made for a stressful snow day on Friday since family was coming into town for her party, but it was super fun to play in on Saturday!

Brinley is ONE!!!!

Oh my, oh my....the day has come. My sweet baby girl has turned one!
I was reading over my birth story and looking at pictures all day. I can't believe my little girl has went from this:

To this:

Brinley is really blossoming and her vocabulary is growing in leaps in bounds. The following words are now part of her daily jabber:
"hi" "hot" "was tha" (what's that?) "not" (pronounced "nose")

- She is able to correctly point out her nose and others and were getting close on mouth and eyes.
- She is getting  SO close to walking...my guess is that it will be any day now.
- Her favorite things include: getting "chased", pouring cups of tea, climbing stairs, sitting in her new chair, looking at pictures, and trust falling when she doesn't get her way

Every day in this last year has been an adventure and I expect nothing less about the days to come. We are so very blessed to have Brinley in our lives and can't even remember life without her. She brings a smile to my face just thinking about her and makes my heart melt with her sweet smile and even sweeter words "mama." Just watching her learn and interact with others makes my heart burst with pride.
I am so very lucky God chose me to be her Mommy!
